It will have been four years since Nanotechnology Researchers Network Center of Japan started to support “MEXT Nanotechnology Support Project” by this March. We now have an increasing number of participants in our symposiums and events, and much access to our Web pages. Our activities to promote nanotechnology research have been recognized by those who are involved in nanotechnology. We are proud to say that we have fulfilled our activities over the past four years.
Last year, we focused on gathering and disseminating advanced information on nanotechnology and providing support for training of young researchers. For one of the training programs, we had a nanotechnology summer school for graduate students. Although this “MEXT Nanotechnology Support Project” is a 5-year program, our activities have been highly evaluated, and therefore, planning for the next-term project has been suggested by the Council for Science and Technology Policy.
In this year, the last year of this project, we continue to play a role in further promotion of nanotechnology research by keeping close relations with researchers and research institutions involving nanotechnology, and we will contribute toward planning for the next-term project as well. We appreciate your great understanding and support.
