Molecule & Material Synthesis (M&MS) Platform provides the shared use opportunity of highest research facilities in the research institutions to the industrial, academic and public agency's researchers. We will support molecule and material synthesis, structural analysis, and molecular design to explore and develop organic, inorganic materials, nanomaterials that have unique functions and/or superior characteristics.

About this platform

Japanese nanotechnology related chemical and material research has a high standard, and it is still quite important to improve the quality continuously for strengthening the basis for academia and industry. The tragic disasters that hit Japan in March 2011 made it very clear that a national network of shared-use equipment is necessary for the urgent and effective restoration and continuation of efficient R&D for next generation materials, rather than the installation of individual expensive research equipment.
M&MS Platform consists of 10 institutes and universities, Chitose Institute of Science and Technology, National Institute for Materials Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Shinshu University,  Nagoya University, Nagoya Institute of Technology, Institute for Molecular Science, Osaka University, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, and Kyushu University, and offers not only the shared-use of molecule and material synthesis equipment, but also the user support based on the members know-how and systematic data analysis. A world top-level nanotechnology M&MS Platform can be created by integrating international researchers and institutions.
