JST to Fund 5 Projects in EIG CONCERT-Japan within the Framework of the Strategic International Collaborative Research Program (SICORP)

 On November 16, 2018, Japan Science and Technoloy Agency (JST) announced that JST has approved funding 5 multilateral joint research projects in the research field of "Functional Porous Materials", in collaboration with 9 funding agencies from 8 European countries (Spain, Czech Republic, Turkey, Norway, Hungary, France, Bulgaria, Poland, and Lithuania) in the framework of the EIG CONCERT-Japan under SICORP.

 "EIG (European Interest Group) CONCERT-Japan" has a formal membership of 12 partner funding institutions representing 11 countries and aims to further develop science and technology cooperation between Europe and Japan by enabling network-building, mutual learning and information exchange on the topic of science and technology policy.

 In 2018, the fifth Joint Call was conducted from April 2 to June 11 in the research field of "Functional Porous Materials", to which a total of 43 proposals was submitted. Following in depth evaluation by the Science Committee Meeting and subsequent discussion among funding agencies participated in the Joint Call, JST has decided to fund the 5 projects jointly.
