JST is to fund four research projects within the framework of e-ASIA Joint Research Program in the fields of "Alternative Energy" and "Disaster Risk Reduction and Management"

On December 21, 2018, Japan Science and Technolog Agency (JST) announced that JST decided to start the new projects within the framework of e-ASIA Joint Research Program (JRP).

The Program aims to strengthen research and development capabilities towards resolution of shared challenges across the region, including those associated with materials, alternative energy, agriculture, health research, disaster risk reduction and management, advanced interdisciplinary research towards innovation, and environment.

A total of eighteen proposals, eight in the field of "Alternative Energy" and ten in the field of "Disaster Risk Reduction and Management", were submitted in response to the joint call made by JST and six funding agencies from six countries (Indonesia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Russia, Thailand, Vietnam). JST and the six funding agencies jointly decided to adopt two projects in each field.
