The Scope of JAPAN NANO 2012 :

Sustainable energy supply, diversification and exploitation of renewable energy sources, and further development of structural materials withstanding earthquakes and tsunami are urgent subjects to create a safety society against disasters. Environmental issues such as reduction of greenhouse gases also require scientific and technological solutions.
Nanotechnology which means analyzing, controlling, and integrating materials or devices at nanometer scale is expected to give significant technological innovation to help solve these issues.
In the present symposium, advancement of R & D especially on renewable electrical energy sources and structural materials for seismic safety using nanotechnology will be reviewed.
